Aquarius is often thought to be a Water sign because it’s symbolised by the Water Bearer. But in fact, Aquarius is an Air sign. But why the Water Bearer? Water represents our emotions and you are really good at carrying other people’s emotions for them. You come across extremely strong and emotionally stable meaning other, more unstable, signs flock to you for advice and reasoning. As good listeners you are able to absorb others’ emotions and give them a rational explanation for the problem. But carrying all this weight of other people’s emotions can sometimes get the better of you and when you are upset, it can be very overwhelming and like the flood gates have opened.
RULING PLANETS: Saturn and Uranus
The Uranus means you are never one of the heard, but the alternative one inspiring all others around you. You are the ultimate truth seekers and fighters for humanity. Absolutely HATING labels, you love to fight for justice and equality! You always have a cause you’re whole heartedly dedicated too…whether that be fighting for freedom, feminism, LGBT rights, standing up to corrupt corporations or fighting to protect the worlds environment…You are never without a cause. Uranus is Aquarius’ modern ruler and it was the 1st planet to be discovered by telescope. Therefore, you feel a huge connection to science, scientific discovery, innovation and technological advancement. Aquarius needs nothing more than lot of space physically and mentally because you are such independent beings! You do fantastically well in jobs where you are pushing limits and making advancements on your own terms. Uranus is also the reason why you are so radical, strong and alternative. However, your tradition ruler Saturn can sometimes project self-doubt which makes you destructive to yourself internally, giving yourself a hard time if things are not moving forwards at the pace you wanted it to.

As an Air sign you are full of logic and wisdom. You love to learn, and absorbing information is effortless, like the other Air signs, Gemini and Libra. But what makes Aquarius different? As an Aquarian you love to think and delve deep into thought…but you would never be thinking inside the box! Oh no that’s for common people! You are the masters of out of the box thinking. You have radical, forward thinking ideas which challenge the status quo and the world. God forbid you keep these to yourself! You want to shock others with what you think in order to make a more memorable impact so they may be converted to your way of thinking. Aquarian’s can be described as extremely stubborn because you have such strong opinions and this is how you express yourself. Have you ever met an Aquarian with a weak argument? NO!! You love a debate because it means you are not only opening up your own minds, but you have a chance to open up someone else’s too. With fixity as your mode, you are extremely strong willed and never a push over.
BODY PART: Ankles and Circulatory System
Aquarius which rules the body part of the ankles. This represents standing strong either alone or with the masses, like your community or social circle. The ankles are also what we use to move our feet whether that’s stepping out of line and being different or stepping forwards evoking change. As for the circulatory system you are believers in the people and their abilities to come together and change society if needed. That’s why you represent the circulatory system, because you make everyone feel equal and connected.
